Networks for depots, yards and transport sites.

Transport and logistics sites are spread out and rarely stop. Gatehouses, workshops, offices, driver facilities and yards all need connecting — reliably, and without digging up the yard. We design the site network around how your operation actually runs.

In short

What does a transport depot need from its network?

Coverage across a spread-out site. Depots typically combine offices, a workshop, a gatehouse and a large yard, often with operations running around the clock. Every part needs connecting — for systems, phones, cameras and handheld devices — and the yard itself is usually the hardest part.

The answer is normally a mix: structured cabling inside buildings, fibre or wireless links between them, outdoor Wi-Fi where it's needed, and CCTV and PA covering the yard.

The challenges

Why depots are hard to connect.

The buildings are usually straightforward. It's the spaces between them that cause problems.

Distance

Buildings spread across a yard

Gatehouses and workshops sit far from the main office, across concrete nobody wants to dig up.

Operations

Sites that never stop

Vehicles move day and night, so work has to be phased around traffic and shifts.

Security

A big perimeter to watch

Gates, yards and parked vehicles need camera coverage that works at night.

What we deliver

From gatehouse to workshop.

One contractor for the whole site, so the cameras, Wi-Fi, PA and phones all run on one properly designed network.

FAQs

Depot and yard networks, answered.

Tell us about the site and how it operates, and we'll plan the network around it.

How do you connect a gatehouse without digging up the yard?

Usually with a point-to-point wireless link from the main building to the gatehouse, which can be installed in a day once surveyed. Where a duct already exists, fibre is an option too.

Can you provide Wi-Fi across the yard?

Yes. We design outdoor Wi-Fi with weatherproof access points positioned for the areas where devices are actually used, such as loading areas and vehicle bays.

Can you work around 24/7 operations?

Yes. Work is phased around traffic and shifts, with nights and weekends used where needed and each area brought back into use as soon as it's done.

Will the cameras work at night?

The cameras we specify for yards and gates have infrared or low-light capability, and we can recommend lighting where identification at night is important.

Can you connect several depots?

We can install and connect the network at each site, and set up the connectivity between them with your IT provider or network supplier.

Do you provide test results and drawings?

Yes. Cabling is certified, wireless links are tested and documented, and you get as-built drawings and labelling schedules at handover.
